"My grandmother Sophie was born in Mosbach near Heidelberg, daughter of Simon Siegel and Babette Baer. She had 1 sister, Johanna, and 3 brothers, Samuel, Aron and Friedrich. Her parents died young and Sophie was raised by relatives. She married Isaak Jacobi in 1871. They had 4 children, Bertha, Alfred, Siegfried and Karl. Sophie died in her 86th year and is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Grünstadt."
